Wide spaces open up before you in La Puna, an Andean region to the northwest of the country. It is an arid land, harsh and cold, and inhabited by the Kolla community. It boasts high plateaux peaking at 4 200m above sea level. Llamas, vicunas, and pink flamingoes live in the Laguna de los Pozuelos.
