Asparn Castle houses a Prehistory Museum that presents human culture from its origins to early Christian times. A room displays reproductions of rupestrian paintings from Altamira, Lascaux and other places. The outstanding Open Air Museum (Freilichtmuseum), behind the castle, displays recreated human dwellings from the Paleolithic period to the early Iron Age (25 000 BC to the 2C AD).
