Bad Ischl : Michelin's recommendations

Set in the heart of the Salzkammergut, Bad Ischl was the Austrian spa resort where the splendour of Franz Joseph's reign has left the greatest marks, having been one of the most brilliant centres of fashionable life in Europe for 70 years. Its parks and Biedermeier-style public buildings cluster in a setting of densely wooded mountains. Today, "relics" from 19C spa life still exist, such as the Zauner tearoom or Seenauer House, with a Rococo façade and triple gables.
