Local ironmasters built this Renaissance tower in 1581 on the southern slopes of the valley. It remains one the symbols of the town's mining history. Its bell, cast from the metal of Turkish cannons, summoned the miners to their shifts and was also used as a fire alarm. Today, it only rings at noon.
