Eisenstadt : Michelin's recommendations
Eisenstadt grew on the south slope of the Leithagebirge, the last crystalline mountain in the Eastern Alps. The mild climate makes it possible to grow vines, peaches, apricots and almonds. Since 1925, the political and administrative role of the Burgenland capital has revived the city. It is also Haydn's town, as everything here reminds visitors of the brilliant composer who lived sometimes here and other times at the Esterhazy palace, in Hungary, for 30 years.
