An artificial hill was created in the early 18C to provide the setting for a Way of the Cross, whose stations, made up of 260 traditional wooden and 60 stone figures, realistically and theatrically portray the story of the Passion. The hilltop, final station offers a full view of the town. The chapel, completed in 1722, houses the Haydn Mausoleum.
