The rectangular main square or Hauptplatz is lined with arcaded houses, with porches and façades with pretty pastel shades of yellow, green or purple, sometimes adorned with delicate stuccowork. To the south-west, the elegant parish church tower, topped by an onion-shaped dome and a small lantern, catches the eye. However, the most spectacular building remains the Italian Renaissance-style former Rathaus, almost facing the carved fountain dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
