To the south-west of the Hauptplatz, the elegant Stadtpfarrkirche (parish church) tower, topped by an onion-shaped dome and a small lantern, catches the eye. It was converted to the Baroque style in the 18C and is a main feature of the townscape. The watchtower room's four wrought-iron balconies are particularly outstanding. The church building is 13C Gothic, even if its chancel's ribbed vaulting only dates from 1843, and has an outstanding organ case.
