The fully-preserved, partly-crenellated, 15C and early 16C ramparts surround the old town, which has retained its Medieval charm. It can be accessed via two gates: the Lower Gate (Untere Tor) with its fine indented gable and an 18C onion-shaped, domed bell-turret or the double Upper Gate (Obere Tor).
