Sackstrasse : Michelin's recommendations

This former cul-de-sac was once known as "Lords Close" (Herrensack) as early as 1650, because of the mansions that are still standing today including, at n° 12, the Krebsenkeller whose Renaissance arcaded courtyard has a secret and very Italian atmosphere. The former Palais Herberstein houses the Modern Art Museum (Neue Galerie), while at n° 18 the Palais Khuenburg was the birthplace of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, assassinated at Sarajevo in 1914 and now houses the Town Museum.
