Hall in Tirol was the Inn valley's salt town. It played a leading role in the Middle Ages. Though busy river traffic on the Inn is past, this still-lively cultural and economic centre has retained a Medieval atmosphere. From the opposite bank of the Inn, on the Tulfes road, visitors can enjoy an excellent viewpoint of the Upper Town's three belfries and famous Mint Tower (Münzerturm).
