Imst Travel guide
Imst : Michelin's recommendations
Imst, with its fountains topped by old statues, huddles round the 15C parish church of the Assumption (Mariae Himmelfahrt). It was given a Baroque style in the 18C, then damaged by a fire, but has preserved its Gothic portals and late-Medieval frescoes. Its 84m-high belfry is the tallest in the Tyrol. The well-known Imst Carnival's masks and costumes can be seen in a newly-created museum.
