A car or funicular excursion to the Hungerburg or even better, a cable-car journey to the Hafelekar (altitude of 2,334 m) will enable you to enjoy magnificent views of Innsbruck and neighbouring mountains. To the south, with the Stubai Alps in the background, the wide Inn Valley stretches out before your eyes. Opposite, you can see the site (now Olympic !) of the Battle of Bergisel between Andreas Hofer and Napoleon's troops. To the north, the limestone slopes of the Karwendel mountains.
