A succession of Gothic and Renaissance buildings preceded the existing palace built for Empress Maria Theresa. Its long façade, flanked by two domed towers, is a typical example of 18th-century, Late Baroque architecture in Innsbruck. The sGiants' Hall is the most remarkable state room, with its 31.5-m length, walls lined with stuccoes with a porcelain finish and ceiling fresco glorifying the triumph of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.
