Retz : Michelin's recommendations

Retz is a major wine-growing centre, where visitors can see Austria's largest historic wine cellars, the Retzer Erlebniskeller. The old town has retained its grid plan and vestiges of its ramparts and defensive towers. Retz's still-active windmill has become the town emblem. The very large, rectangular Hauptplatz has a few interesting houses, such as the Verderberhaus, crowned by a gallery or the Sgraffitohaus, with a fine carved doorway.
