Beginning in Salzburg, journey past Hellbrunn on your way to the salt mines. Dress like a miner and travel via a miners' train into the heart of the mountain. A local miner guide provides historical tales about the salt and describes how it was mined, transported, and used. Feel free to use the miners' slide while heading deeper into the underground caverns. After rafting across the Salt River, a miners' train takes you from the mine's labyrinths back to the outside world. Be sure to take a peek at Untersberg Mountain as you head back to Salzburg.
