The city of Salzburg founded the Music Academy, or Mozarteum in the 19th century. Thus, it paid a late tribute, with no hard feelings, to its most famous son, despite the fact that Mozart did not like his native town very much. In 1874, the small wooden lodge, in which Mozart had composed The Magic Flute, was specially moved here from Vienna and set up in the garden.
