This square, overlooked by the majestic church tower, is divided into an upper section with a slope and its "Grätzel" closed by the Linz Gate (Linzer Tor), and a lower section with St George's Fountain and its wrought-iron grille in the centre, ending by an imposing water tower. The square's showpiece is the colourful row of houses called the "Silberzeile" or "Silver Row", recalling the rich merchants who once lived here.
