Stainz Travel guide
Stainz : Michelin's recommendations
Stainz lies in the valley, watched over by its former abbey, and gives hints of its past opulence, which was based on the wine trade. From the prosperous 16C and 17C, it has retained old houses, which notably line the main square with their smart façades. Noble buildings, converted into a castle in the 19C, enclosing the Baroque parish church are all that remain of the former Augustinian canon monastery.
