Tamsweg Travel guide
Tamsweg : Michelin's recommendations
The finest approach to Tamsweg is by the Mauterndorf road. It is overlooked by the great church of St Leonard, which stands alone on its forest slope. The town has remained a folklore centre, where annual summer processions follow a giant dummy representing Samson, flanked by two grotesque dwarfs. Tamsweg also boasts a square lined with beautiful houses. The Town Hall is housed in a 16C building, typical of Salzburg country mansions.
