Tulln an der Donau : Michelin's recommendations
Tulln grew up on the strategic Danube site of a former Roman camp and has remained an important commercial centre. Between 1042 and 1113, the town was home to the Babenberg dynasty. The museums housed in the Minoritenkloster reflect this brilliant past, as do various buildings, such as the Three Kings funerary chapel, one of the finest in Austria. Tulln also offers a museum devoted to its most famous son: the painter Egon Schiele.
