Schubert was born in this house on 31 January 1797. You will be moved by the atmosphere of this museum where a few objects, his famous glasses, a lock of hair, his piano and portraits conjure up the short life of the composer. A system of headphones enables visitors to hear the music of their choice during the visit. Visitors can also see the Lichtentalkirche where he played and sang as a child. Not far away at no 3 Säulengasse is the house where he lived for 17 years.
