At the foot of the Viennese Forest, Grinzing is an attractive village with brightly coloured houses set in the midst of vineyards, despite encroaching urban development. Many visitors, some of them famous, come to Grinzig to taste the new wine sold by the winegrowers in the renowned Heurigen, a source of great local pride. Inspired by the music of a Schrammelmusik orchestra, people drink and sing until late in the evening.
