Preceded by fine gardens, ths Italian-inspired Baroque building houses the fine private collection of Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein, comprising some 1 600 works from the Renaissance to Austrian Romanticism, including Lorenzo Monaco’s Madonna and Child between two Angels and Lucas Cranach’s Portrait of Elector Frederick III of Saxony. Made in Florence, the 18CBadminton Cabinet in ebony, bronze and precious stones is a highlight, as is the Hercules room with its fresco by Andrea Pozzo.
