The Hofburg: Austrian National Library Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Founded in the 18C by Emperor Karl VI at the height of the Baroque period, the National Library contains several million works. Its gem is the Prunksaal stateroom, a splendid homage to the knowledge contained within the 200 000 ancient books lining its walls. Some are extremely rare, such as the Vienna Dioskurides, a Byzantine manuscript dating from the 6C, and the Gutenberg Bible. Do not miss the Globe Museum (Globenmuseum).
