Waidhofen an der Thaya : Michelin's recommendations

Waidhofen is an old town, occupying a pleasant site, on the left bank of the Thaya. It grew from a fortified settlement, first recorded in 1171, and has retained vestiges of its former ramparts, which are now fine promenades. Visitors should stroll through its old streets before exploring the Hauptplatz, with a Holy Trinity Column at the centre and two great buildings: the Renaissance Town Hall and Parish Church, with dazzling Baroque decorations.
