This is an easy family stroll (1h 45min on foot), heading first along the eastern shore at the foot of the austere sharp pyramid that is the Hohes Rad. There are pleasant waterfalls and plenty of rhododendrons along the way. The return journey takes in the western shore, dominated by Lobspitze. This walk offers splendid views, notably of Schattenspitze to the south, the Kloster Valley (Tällispitze and Sonntagspitze) to the southwest, Hochmaderer to the west and the Vallüla massif to the north.
