Composed of two impressive mountain chains, the Wilder Kaiser to the north (2 344m) and the Zahmer Kaiser to the south (1 977m), the Kaisergebirge lies in the Tyrol and is renowned for its climbing, ski resorts (Kitzbüheler and Wilder-Kaiser/Brixen Valley) and its superb landscape of mountains and rivers. Much of the area is a protected nature reserve.
