A narrow but well-maintained road runs between the forest and shoreline; note the hundreds of rounded boulders, on the shore or half-immersed, dumped here by glacial movements. Fine wooden houses are sited among the trees, notably on the outskirts of Suurpea. Pärispea (10km from Loksa) has twin identities: that of a traditional village; and that of a seaside resort, with wooden villas bordering the little road leading to the beach and tip of the peninsula.
