Turaida
: Michelin's recommendations
On the banks of the River Gauja, Turaida is steeped in history. Its 13C brick castle is today largely restored, and makes for a pleasant conclusion to a stroll taking in traditional artisans’ workshops plus the old wood church standing on a nearby hill. In front of the castle is the tomb of Maija, the rose of Turaida, a young lover whose tragic demise has given rise to a legend.
