Labanoras
: Michelin's recommendations
A cluster of wooden houses in a clearing constitute the charming hamlet of Labanoras. Tulips and dandelions, which inspire local artisans (fabric and textiles), provide a summer carpet of colour. On Sundays, the wood church (1820) is attended by a population that mainly uses bicycles. It has also given its name to Lithuania’s largest regional park (285 lakes and 30 rivers among its pine forests). Around 200 hamlets (sometimes a sole woodman’s house) are scattered across this verdant landscape.
