The Museum of Contemporary Art, situated on the banks of the Escaut, is housed in an old grain silo, La Nationale, which was built in 1926 and recently extended. Here, you can see work by famous contemporary artists from the 1970s to he present day, both Belgian (J Fabre, P Van Snick, B Lohaus, J Deleu) and international (T Cragg, B Nauman, A Charlton, Boltanski, D Flavin). From the top of the building, you can see the Growing Ladder by H Duchateau.
