This tower was part of the ramparts, which were built with large foundations made up of fragments from demolished buildings, including magnificent low-reliefs that can now be seen in the Musée luxembourgeois. One of these sculptures, depicting Neptune, is still in place in the wall under the tower (access by metal ladder). Visitors can also see part of the Travellers Relief in the museum.
