Groene Rei is a tree-lined bank, as its name suggests. Here, you will see the House of the Pelican (De Pelikaan), which dates back to 1714. The building has high skylights and carries the emblem of the pelican, and was once a hospital. The end of the bank gives a good view over the canal, belfry and high steeple of Notre-Dame Church.
