A short walk from Berlaymont stands this district that was designed in 1875 by the architect Gédéon Bordiau. This example of modern urbanism with its eclectic, Art Nouveau style warrants a visit. Note the Hôtel Van Eetvelde, a brilliant work by V. Horta (late 19C) at 4, Avenue Palmerston, and the house of the painter of St-Cyr (1900) at 11 Square Ambiorix. This building was designed by Gustave Stauven and is extremely narrow.
