The Town Hall and its 70m-high belfry, designed by J. André and J. Cézar, were built in 1936. The Art Deco interior houses a Museum of Fine Arts with paintings by F.-J. Navez (born in Charleroi and student of David), C. Meunier, P. Paulus, Magritte, Delvaux and other artists. The Jules Destrée Museum retraces the life of the Socialist politician, statesman, lawyer and writer with documents, photos, personal mementoes.
