Chimay
: Michelin's recommendations
The little town of Chimay lies at the foot of the "Hainaut boot", on the southern edge of the Rance forest. The bridge over the River Eau Blanche offers a fine view of its famous castle. Chimay also has memories of Froissart, author of well-known Chronicles in the 14C and Mme de Tallien, one of the most beautiful women of the 18C and 19C, best known for having encouraged Tallien to overthrow Robespierre.
