Couvin Travel guide
Couvin : Michelin's recommendations
Couvin's slate roofs, lining the shaded quays of the River Eau Noire, are overlooked by a limestone crag (Falize). It was once topped by a castle destroyed by Louis XIV's troops in 1672. This attractive holiday resort lies at the heart of a region dotted with signposted footpaths and well-stocked rivers. Couvin is also famous for its cuisine: escavèche (fish dish), poulet à la couvinoise (chicken dish)... Finally, iron smelting is a very old local industry (Fonderies de l'Eau Noire).
