Parts of this square have been rebuilt but it has retained its old character. It features the Town Hall, housed in a former cloth hall and rebuilt in the Flemish Renaissance style after 1945 (its 14C square belfry has corner turrets) and the Municipal Museum, housed in the former meat market (1460), flanked by an octagonal turret and displaying archaeology collections.
