The house to which the Ghent and second St Martens-Latem group artist Gust de Smet (1877-1943) retired to paint from 1935 until his death is now a museum. The studio and interior are unchanged and contain many of his works.

This house was built in 1969 by the last companion of Gust de Smet's brother, Léon (1881-1966). It contains the painter's furniture and everyday objects that he depicted in his works. About twenty paintings and drawings are exhibited.
