The Town Hall crypt setting enhances the museum's appeal. Under 14C red sandstone Gothic vaulting, note a 15C painting on wood depicting the Last Judgement, the replica of a famous marble statue of the Virgin and Child and 15C-16C armour. The Romanesque-style room has a 15C chandelier made of deer horn and gold and silverplate. The Aldermen's Room includes finely-carved furniture.
