Eupen : Michelin's recommendations
The large industrial town of Eupen, near the Hautes Fagnes, lies on a slope of the Vesdre valley, with factories scattered along the river bank. The town dates from the 18C, when its fine patrician houses and the church of St Nicholas were built. Eupen belonged to Germany for a century and a German dialect is still spoken here. It became Belgian in 1925.
