This gravity dam (1950) lies of the confluence of the Vesdre and Getzbach rivers. It is one of the largest projects of this type in Belgium, with the Giuleppe Dam and Eau d'Heure complex. It was designed to supply water to the Eupen and Liège areas and is equipped with a water-processing plant and a small electric power station. Sailing is permitted on the reservoir. The Panoramic Tower enables to see the whole lake and surrounding Hertogenwald woodland.
