This museum devoted to Kortrijk's history, from Prehistoric times to the 20C, is housed in former Groeninge Abbey. This brick complex dates from 1597 and was first Cistercian, then "Pauvre Claire" (from 1845). There was a ground floor common room and upstairs dormitory. The museum has a fine collection of silverware and damask cloth and recalls the Battle of the Golden Spurs.
