The elegant 18C Town Hall stands in the middle of the square, housing a magnificent Rococo spiral staircase and flanked by a Gothic belfry (1369) that was once part of a drapers' hall. The square is lined with some old guild halls, including the Butchers' Hall, with crow-stepped gables and perron guarded by two lions. The Eycken Boom (Oak Tree) once hosted members of a "rhetorical chamber".
