Purity of form distinguishes this maginificent building by Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann. The project which also involved the sculptors Powolny, Luksch et Metzner and the famous artist Gustav Klimt took six years (1906-1911). Its exterior is an icon of early 20C architecture; the perfection of its execution and modernity of design have withstood the test of time. Note the fine staircase tower embellished with four figures and a bronze semi-circle by Metzner.
