This British cemetery is the largest in the region. Its 11 856 white tombstones stand on a lawn with flower beds, arranged around the tall "Cross of Sacrifice". The semicircular wall enclosing the cemetery bears the names of almost 35 000 soldiers who were lost after 16 August 1917. This site overlooks and offers a fine view of the area.
