The Formal gardens were designed by the counts of Beaufort-Spontin in 1760, according to Le Nôtre's principles. They run parallel to the river, over three terraces adorned with pools. The lowest is shaded by lime trees and has a collection of orange trees, some of which are 300 years old. The other terraces have tall hedges forming a maze. The garden's highest point, near the Frédéric Salle pavilion (interior decoration by the Moretti brothers), overlooks the whole estate.
