The tower of the abbey church looms over the park. The four recess tombs inside the church serve as a reminder that members of Hainaut's nobility were buried here in the Middle Ages. The wildlife park lies all around, in gardens boasting trees that are several centuries old. Over 2 500 birds, including parrots, cranes, storks, penguins and owls, are housed in large aviaries or inhabit the reconstituted marshland and lakes. Resident animals, include lemurs, zebras, hippos and seals.
