The 22-floor tower, built in 1965, contains the Secretariat of the European Parliament. The Council of Ministers sits here for three months a year. The building was adjoined by a smaller one, the Centre Robert Schuman. A third building completed in 1979, the Hémicycle, is a conference centre.
